The British vs the Italians
Aston Martin just dropped its new Vantage S, bringing back the British marque's penchant for performance in both coupe and roadster form. While Astons have always had an aura of their own, it's easy to draw comparisons to other contemporary exotic supercars that they could rival. One such comparison can be drawn between the new Aston Martin Vantage S and the Lamborghini Temerario, the famed Italian marque's first car to use a V8 twin-turbo engine paired with three electric motors.

Different formulas, same end result
The Temerario uses a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine mated to 3 electric motors to produce a blinding 907 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque through an AWD 8-speed automatic transmission. The Vantage, on the other hand, sticks solely with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 to make 671 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque through a similar 8-speed automatic transmission. Their weights are similar too, with the Temerario sitting at 3,726 lbs while the Vantage is lighter at 3,538 lbs. Despite the massive power difference, the 0-60 mph times are relatively close, with the Temerario hitting that mark in 2.7 seconds while the Vantage S can do it in 3.3 seconds.

The design languages vary wildly
Modern Lamborghinis have always focused on looking as fast as they are, and the Temerario is no different. With its wedge shape, sharp lines, thin headlights, and hexagon taillights, there is no mistaking this Lamborghini for anything else. That same theme carries over into the interior, with plenty of rich leather and the bright red engine start/stop that the Italian automaker is famous for. It's the cool kid on the block who wants to be noticed and has no problem being the center of attention.
Aston Martins tend to be more on the subdued side, much like a distinguished gentleman at a dinner party. Rather than the sharp angles of the Temerario, the Vantage S sports smooth, suave lines that run from the muscular front fenders to the rear. That same design language carries into the cabin, where the speed factor does not overcome the classy factor. Leather is still present, as it should be, but it's not as in-your-face as it is in its rival's interior. It has plenty to prove if challenged, but it doesn't like to show its entire hand all at once.

What do they cost?
The Lamborghini Temerario starts at $290,000, which is a pretty penny, but something to be expected from the raging Italian bull. The Aston Martin Vantage S's price has yet to be announced, but it will debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. For comparison purposes, a regular 2025 Aston Martin Vantage has a base MSRP of $194,500, but expect to pay more at a dealership.
Final thoughts
There's no real way to pick a winner here. While both cars are stunningly fast and beautiful, each serves a vastly different audience. The Lamborghini Temerario is designed for those who want to make a statement, care about flashy looks, and who drive faster than fast. The Aston Martin Vantage S is more for those who prefer flying under the radar but still want the luxury and speed that comes with an Aston Martin.
That said, there is no arguing that the Aston Martin is less powerful than the Lamborghini. We don't have the price tag for it yet, but if it ends up being pricier than the Temerario, Aston Martin may have trouble moving units to the crowd that prefers sheer power over looks. Then again, classic music enthusiasts may not enjoy Lil Wayne either.
