Colin Jost says he and Jonathan Bailey 'have to kiss now' after latter's viral smooch with wife Scarlett Johansson

Colin Jost is flirting with the idea of kissing Jonathan Bailey to "close the loop" after the Bridgerton alum's viral red carpet kiss with Jost's wife, Scarlett Johansson, at a recent Jurassic World Rebirth event.
Following the on-screen pair's comical smooch at the Jurassic World franchise's June 17 premiere in London, Jost jokingly posed the idea that he, too, needs to lock lips with Bailey to complete the narrative.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Saturday Night Live Weekend Update co-anchor initially reacted to a comically placed billboard in New York City that coincidentally positioned his wife with a firearm pointed at him.

"It's pretty great, it's been a fun, lot of Jurassic press things that you didn't expect this to be a story, but there's a lot of stories coming out about it."

Of all the threats out there, I wasn't thinking it was Jonathan!"
Jost added that "it's going to be okay" because "people really blow it out of proportion if someone kisses their friend hello, it's really nuts."
He elaborated, noting that "Jonathan is an out, gay man" and that "it didn't seem like the biggest threat" as a result.
"Jonathan and I were at the red carpet, we were like, I guess we have to kiss now? Close the loop?" he quipped.

Jurassic World Rebirth lit up the box office upon its July 2 release, grossing around $318 million globally in its debut. And while the film capitalizes on one of the most popular film franchises in history, the team told Entertainment Weekly in an interview that they attempted to move away from overt replication of what worked in the past.

"We did take a few things out from the original movies. I think [director] Gareth [Edwards] felt less encumbered by our desire to not quote ourselves. So he felt freer making references, and that was fine. But we tried not to. It's a fine line," writer David Koepp said. "There's a few you want to acknowledge, first of all, that you exist in a world that those movies exist in. You don't ever want anything that smacks of self-congratulatory or self-love or anything like that."
Jurassic World Rebirth is now playing in theaters nationwide.
