Lewis Hamilton Says He’s Pushing Ferrari To Be Better

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton says he’s pushing Scuderia Ferrari to perform better in Formula One. Referencing the team’s lackluster results with past world champions like Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, and Fernando Alonso, Hamilton told the press he’s going to fix what’s wrong with the Italians once and for all.

Christian Horner might land at a surprising spot.

He revealed ahead of the Spa-Francorchamps GP that he used the F1 summer break to hold meetings with all the big wigs inside Ferrari. He gave feedback on what he doesn’t like about the SF-25, including the problematic rear end.

But the racecar is only symptomatic of a much larger problem. As the Associated Press quote the man as saying at a press conference, Ferrari “is a huge organization and there’s a lot of moving parts and not all of them are firing on all the cylinders that need to be. That’s ultimately why the team’s not had the success that I think it deserves.

"So I feel that it’s my job to challenge absolutely every area, to challenge everybody in the team, particularly the guys that are at the top who are making the decisions.”

This might be where rumors of Hamilton leaving the team have been coming from. Perhaps some of the staff have been hopeful that will come true, because they don’t want the driver breathing down their necks about perceived dysfunctions within the halls of Scuderia Ferrari.

We’ve worked at places where the culture doesn’t support optimal performance, where “good enough” prevails and tradition is held above innovation. And we’ve heard rumors that Ferrari embodies all that to one degree or another.

Perhaps Lewis Hamilton will have some success in rooting out the problems within the team. Or the rumors of his departure might come true, whether he likes it or not.
