A new rumor from a noted insider suggests that Marvel Studios is eyeing a big star from the John Wick universefor a role in theMCU.

What’s the latest MCU rumor?

According to a new report from noted insider and “scooper” Daniel Richtman (also known as DanielRPK), Ana de Armas is being eyed for a “big role” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No word on exactly what role or project de Armas would be was mentioned, but fans were quick to theorize what it could be, and what franchise she might be being eyed for.

De Armas rose to stardom for her roles in projects like 2017’s Blade Runner 2049 and 2019’s Knives Out, but has been acting since 2006. Recently, de Armas starred in 2022’s Blonde, where she portrayed Norma Jeane/Marilyn Monroe, 2023’s Ghosted, 2024’s Eden, and 2025’s Ballerina, the latter of which was set in the world of John Wick.

As for Marvel Studios, the company just released The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and up next is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to release on July 31, 2026. That film is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led byTom Hollandas he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel.

Following Spider-Man’s release, Marvel Studios is set to release Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Disney has also scheduled an additional release date for an unannounced MCU film for July 23, 2027.
