TSA just shared a shocking find from a passenger’s checked bag — with a warning

It’s not every day TSA officers open a checked bag and find what looks like enough firepower for a video game boss battle — but that’s exactly what happened at Spokane International Airport (GEG).

According to a new post on the agency’s official Facebook page, a passenger recently packed 14 inert rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) in their luggage. While the explosives weren’t functional, TSA says they still sparked serious concern.

“It’s not rocket science,” the agency quipped in its caption. “Our officers pressed pause on that attempt, because this isn’t a boss fight, it’s baggage claim.”

TSA warned that even fake or inert weapons can cause “very real delays,” potentially slowing down the screening process for everyone. The agency urges travelers to leave realistic-looking items — whether props, collectibles, or replicas — at home or in properly approved transport channels.

For anyone unsure whether their gear will make it through security, TSA cheekily suggests texting “ROCKET” to 275-872 to chat with its AskTSA service for packing guidance. As the post put it: “Save the heavy artillery for the loadout screen, not the luggage belt.”
