This comes after it was previously revealed that development on the Midnight Sons movie has continued, with the studio reportedly hiring a writer to pen the project’s screenplay.

According to a new report, Marvel Studios is reportedly planning the MCU debut of Johnny Blaze, who is known in the comics as the second character to take on the mantle of Ghost Rider. This somehow actually ties into a recent rumor about the studio reportedly looking to connect Agents of SHIELD to its upcoming Disney+ series Vision Quest. Introducing the Johnny Blaze version of the fan-favorite hero might potentially mean that the studio won’t be retconning Agent of SHIELD’s Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider.
Further details about Midnight Sons’ potential plot are still being kept under wraps, but a recent rumor claimed that the studio might be planning to make Ghost Rider as the titular team’s leader. The character was originally played by Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage in Sony Pictures’ live-action Ghost Rider movies. Recently, a Samurai variant of the character appeared in the series finale of the Disney+ animated series What If…? for a brief non-speaking appearance.
