For all the posters, models, videos, and even in-person sightings of the legendary supercar from Maranello, you likely haven’t seen all the details like the chassis and other nooks and crannies shown in this rather extensive detailing job.
Here are 10 surprising facts about the Ferrari F40.
Chronicled by YouTube channel I AM Detailing (the name is pretty self-explanatory) this F40 gets detailed to help preserve it for the coming years. Since it was apparently owned by Nigel Mansell, yes the Formula One legend, it’s just that much more special.

They unbolt and remove the carbon-fiber seats while cleaning the interior, something else we bet you’ve never seen done to an F40. And there’s more.
It’s actually quite fitting that an F1 driver would own a Ferrari F40 considering so much F1 technology from back in the day was poured into the street-legal vehicle. Some people are shocked to find out just how Spartan the supercar is, with zero carpeting on the floor (although the dash has some) and the absence of door handles on the interior.

The frame is made of tubular steel, but the body panels are a composite of carbon and Kevlar, something that was rather exotic in the 1980s. In fact, no other production car before it feature composite body panels, something that’s common today.
