Thunderbolts* star Olga Kurylenko recently opened up about the recently released MCU movie, as well as various script changes involved with her character.

What did Olga Kurylenko say was changed in Thunderbolts*?

Speaking to Diverto (translation via X user Miranes2310), Kurylenko opened up about how the film’s script changed throughout production. Kurylenko mentioned that her and her son had to move to Atlanta for five months and sit through the writer’s strike.

“Actually, we were unlucky because we started shooting this film when the strike happened. So, basically, we brought all our stuff with us,” Kurylenko said. “I took my son out of school, we moved to Atlanta for five months, rented a house and everything. And all of a sudden, two weeks later, they say, ‘You’re going home because there’s a strike and we don’t know when it’s going to end.'”

Kurylenko went on to say that in the original script, her character Taskmaster made it through the entire movie. However, after the strike, she found out that the general concept and story for the movie changed, and her character was instead taken out of it earlier on.

“But suddenly, in the first script, my character was… She was there until the end, but it wasn’t the same script at all. After the strike, the script had nothing to do with it,” said Kurylenko. “They changed the concept, they changed the story, the places, where it took place. It wasn’t the same anymore. It’s a pity. It was a cool character.

“It’s especially that everyone, even the costume designers, said, ‘Oh my, she’s our favorite character in terms of costumes, because she’s the one with the best look.’ My costume is the best.”

Marvel StudiosThunderbolts* was released in theaters earlier this month. Directed by Jake Schreier, the film stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds/Sentry, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, Wendell Pierce as Gary, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, in addition to John-Kamen.

“Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes—Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker,” the official synopsis for Thunderbolts* reads. “After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?”

Thunderbolts* is currently playing in U.S. theaters.
