A new wave of speculation suggests a major development in DC Studios’ cinematic plans, as discussions surrounding character crossovers raise fresh questions. Recent fan theories now focus on whether Robert Pattinson’s Batman could appear in Superman or future DCU projects.

Unfortunately, Robert Pattinson’s Batman is not in Superman

Robert Pattinson’s Batman does not appear in Superman (2025). There is no cameo, reference, or mention of his version of the Dark Knight in the film. The speculation began after fans noted that Track 7 from the film’s soundtrack, composed by John Murphy and David Fleming, shares tonal similarities with Michael Giacchino’s theme for The Batman.

Despite these musical similarities, no Batman features in Superman, and the track does not indicate any crossover. Reports following the premiere confirm that the movie does not mention or hint at any version of Batman.

James Gunn has previously clarified that Robert Pattinson’s Batman belongs to a separate continuity under the “Elseworlds” banner. Gunn stated in an interview with Rolling Stone, “Batman has to have a reason for existing… a need that he’s not exactly the same as Matt’s Batman.” He emphasized that Pattinson’s version is not being integrated into the DCU.

Although online speculation spiked after the soundtrack’s release, with one user writing, “THERE’S NO F—— WAY THIS IS COINCIDENTAL,” the 39-second clip in question only fueled theories, not confirmation. The clip went viral, but the film and its creators have not substantiated the fan theories.

Gunn further noted that “it’s not the plan” to fold Pattinson into the DCU (via Dexerto). Meanwhile, Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin have submitted the script for The Batman Part II, which remains a separate project from Gunn’s DC Universe.

Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and others rounding out the cast. The film does not include any Batman character or reference.
