Following a recent leak, Call of Duty: Warzone players are now questioning if the shooter's Season 5 trailer may have already revealed its rumored new Resurgence map. It has been suggested that the next Resurgence map will debut during Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but eagle-eyed Warzone fans have now discovered what appears to be the first official look at the potential new map.

On August 25, a credible industry insider and leaker revealed some potentially massive details surrounding a new Resurgence map for Call of Duty: Warzone. According to the leaker, the map will launch alongside Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 later this year. However, unlike the game's previous maps, this one is rumored to be an extended version of Liberty Falls from Black Ops 6 Zombies and will also feature other maps from the mode, such as Shattered Veil. While developers Treyarch and Raven are yet to reveal any official information surrounding the first season of Black Ops 7, it looks like the two studios have already teased the rumored Resurgence map.
Warzone's Next Resurgence Map May Have Already Been Teased
Earlier this month, Call of Duty released its big Season 5 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The update once again brought plenty of content to both titles, including some new weapons, maps, modes, cosmetics, and more. However, the official launch trailer for the new season seems to include a brief clip of what some believe to be the rumored Resurgence map. While the map itself is just the new Reckoning Zombies map from Black Ops 6, the gameplay snippet from the trailer shows players dropping in via parachutes, similar to when players infill in Warzone. As the upcoming Resurgence map is rumored to consist of multiple Zombies maps, fans are speculating that this clip may be taken from Warzone and not Black Ops 6 Zombies.
As there has been no confirmation from Treyarch, Raven, or Activision surrounding the next Warzone map, fans should take this information with a pinch of salt. However, fans are already skeptical of the idea of a new Resurgence map for Warzone that solely consists of locations from previous Zombies maps. Plenty of users are calling the potential map "lazy" for it simply being reused assets, with one user saying, "Just more repurposed garbage. That’s all this game is now."

Rumors of a new Resurgence map appear to be adding to ongoing concerns surrounding Black Ops 7, as the forthcoming entry in the series is seemingly struggling to generate any sort of positive momentum in the lead up to its launch. The worldwide reveal trailer for Black Ops 7 has not only reached nearly 400,000 dislikes, but it's also being bombarded with comments from fans stating that the trailer made them pre-order Battlefield 6 instead. This also comes as the PlayStation Store appears to have revealed that Battlefield 6 is currently outpacing Black Ops 7 in pre-orders.
