The Los Angeles native has put her foot in a lot of doors as an actress. Greta Lee’s acting debut was a guest spot on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Then, she made her Broadway debut in the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Lee’s career kept accelerating as a supporting actress in shows like Russian Doll and The Morning Show.

While Greta Lee has upcoming roles in Tron: Ares and Late Fame, THR reported that she’ll be making her directorial debut with a serial killer feature.

Greta Lee’s directorial debut project

Greta Lee will be lending her vision and screenwriting skills to the serial killer movie The Eyes Are the Best Part. Based on Monika Kim’s psychological horror novel, the Searchlight Pictures‘ adaptation is about a Korean-American college student’s family falling apart. After Ji-won’s father abandons the family after engaging in an affair, her mom’s racist, misogynistic boyfriend leads to Ji-won’s urge to commit acts of violence.

Critics loved Monika Kim’s feminist horror novel. The New York Times commended the book’s “horrific world of murder and cannibalism” as well as its critique of “misogyny, exploring Asian fetishization and stereotypes.”

Jackson House will be producing the psychological horror movie. Their credits include I Wanna Dance With Somebody, The Trial of the Chicago 7, and Molly’s Game. Lulu Wang and Dani Melia will also be producing the project with their collaborations including The Farewell and Expats.
